Whitewater Ski Resort Jobs

Where Should I Live? Pittsburgh vs. Atlanta?

I have two similar paying job offers.

Atlanta is much bigger, better known etc, but has higher crime rates, insanely humid hot summers, commutes to and from work take forever, etc. Then again, the mild winters would be nice, closer to the coast, stronger local econoy, etc.

On the flipside, Pittsburgh has a reputation as being grungy and dreary. But, I visited last year, and it’s really changed a TON in the last 20 years. It’s actually a really pretty downtown area, GREAT sports town, real nice down to earth people, near ski resorts in winter, near whitewater rafting in the summer, it’s economy is starting to bounce back, and cost of living is WAY lower than Atlanta. But their winters can be brutal, there’s still some depressing industry in the outlying areas, etc. So it’s got its faults too.

I thought at first Atlanta for sure, but after visiting both, now I’m sort of torn.

If you answer, make sure to mention if you’re familiar with just one of the two, or both.

Atlanta. Just find a place to live nearer to your job. It is hot down here, but how much do you like to shovel snow? You will do a lot of it there in Pittsburgh.
