Water Ski Racing Speeds
Physics Question Motion?
I don’t get this, Plz help?
Your friend is training for the cross country skiing race and you and some other friends have agree to provide him with food and water along his training route. It is bitterly cold day, so none of you wants to wait outside longer than you have to. Taro, whose house is the stop before yours , calls you at 8:25 am to tell you that the skier just pass by his house and is planning to move at an average speed of 8.0km/hr. If it is 5.2km from Taro’s house to yours, when should you expect the skier to pass your house?
Thanks in advance
t = d / v
t = time
d = distance
v = velocity
t = (5.2 km) / (8 km / hr) — kms cancel and you are left with t in hrs
t = 0.65 hrs
t = 39 mins (0.65 hrs * (60 mins / hr))
You can expect him at 9:04
