One of the most popular Lakes Corp. Engineer in the state of Georgia's Lake Allatoona. It is estimated that welcomes seven million visitors each year. Its popularity is driven for its proximity to Atlanta, easy access from Interstate 75 and its myriad opportunities for outdoor recreation.

The lake serves as a place to enjoy of recreational boating, water skiing and water skiing. Many sailors in the water to catch fish, but you have to take a boat to participate in that sport on Lake Allatoona. You can find access to fishing on the coast state of many Engineering Corp., and city parks.

The coast is 270 miles long, extending to different cities of Georgia. Driving around the lake that literally take many hours and it is fortunate that there are marinas, boat launches public access and parks in a variety of points around the perimeter of the lake. The marinas are all privately run, even one that is located in the state Georgia Red Top Mountain State Park. You can pay a rent receipt in any of the marinas in order to keep your boat in the water all year. If you go by the lake sure to be sure. Wear your life jacket and not drink and drive!

The Corporation of Engineers manages nearly a dozen camps in lakeside. There you can find space for your RV, Camper or tent. Each campsite has water and electricity and services include hot showers, bathrooms and laundries. You can also find places to camp, some by local municipalities. The popular Red Top Mountain State Park also has a campsite, plus a hotel and hostel and rental cabins.

There are also a number of popular day use parks. One of its great points to it is their beach areas. These men feature implies that the sandy beaches, which are much more preferably to the red clay of Georgia that is covered. There are also small swimming beaches found in a number of camps.

Other activities that are popular around the lake include hiking, mountain biking and bird watching. Most trails are concentrated around Allatoona Lake Dam and the Red Top Mountain State Park. Barbecues and picnics are easy to enjoy as there are more than a thousand picnic tables set up in parks, parks campsites and day use.
