What’s the best coat to get for downhill skiing and snowshoeing?

Maybe I’m crazy to think I can find one coat that can do it all. But I found this North Face jacket on sale at REI http://www.thenorthface.com/opencms/opencms/tnf/gear.jsp?site=NA&model=AN8X&language=en
Am I right in thinking that it might handle both jobs, or do I need to get seperate coats for both activities? Thanks for your help!

the componet jacket is good. the inner shell on the one you found is down. comfy and warm. not bulky. the outer component is waterproof . that jacket should handle many cold weather fun activities for you. make sure the outer shell has pit zips under the arms (get it? pit zip…arm pit….) some north face are made for discount houses and it is not the same product you’ll find in specialty stores. things like pit zips are the first to go on the cheaper ones.
