Skiing October
What city should we visit in Colorado during October?
My dad and I are leaving for Colorado tomorrow morning but don’t mind where exactly we’re going. We were planning on going to Estes Park, but we were thinking it might be tough to drive up there at this time and we used to visit there quite a bit so it’d be nice to see something new. We aren’t looking to go skiing, just a fair bit of hiking and whatever else sounds interesting.
Anyone who knows of a particularly nice place we should see, please tell!
Thank you.
The ‘Western Slope’ is on the other side of the state from Denver. It is also on the opposite side of the Continental Divide. A four hour drive in normal weather will get you from Denver to Grand Junction. Another hour South and you are in Montrose, the location of the ‘Black Canyon of the Gunnison (river)’ National Park.
The best reason for taking this trek is that you will find that the Journey will be your adventure. Along the I-70 route, you will pass through Georgetown, Silverthorne, Vail, Glenwood Springs, and find many interesting detours.
Enjoy and be safe!
