Skiing Near Boston
Where should I buy used skis?
I live in Boston and plan to go to Killington next week for a 2 day ski trip. I would like to buy a pair of used skis. Is it cheaper to buy it while I am in Boston (from some place like skimarket) or to buy it from a store near Killington?
I prefer not to buy from craigslist as it is hard to tell what quality you’re getting. I also don’t have time to place an order and wait a week for my skis to arrive.
why buy…rent for a 2day trip…killington has 2 demo centers mountainside where you can try out some of the newest and best equipment available anywhere. last year I tried out the entire volkl lineup at killington and fell in love with the tigershark 10ft powerswitch…no way I was gonna drop 1200bucks on a ski that I hadn’t tried out first
if you’re heart is set on buying alot of resorts will have a classified section on their website for people to unload last years equipment but you usually find this at resorts that have a racing program and it’s usually racing skis that you’ll find for sale. this is a great way to purchase a really good lightly used pair of skis but alas they will be last years race models….you generally won’t find too many powder or terrain park skis on these sites.
