North Carolina Skiing / Snowboarding?

Actually I have a question something about skiing in North Carolina. Im from South Florida, so almost no know anything, but I'm planning a trip to visit a family member in mid-December, about 30 minutes from Raleigh. So my question is .. 1. How is the snow in December? I realize that its a little early in the season but is it good enough for skiing and snowboarding in the mountains? 2. What ski lodges you recommend? I will not need an overnight place somewhere that you can go skiing and snowboarding for the day then go home at night. I would prefer a place that serves food and coffee and hot chocolate though. 3. How far is the nearest mountain refuge to Raleigh? Thank you so so much!

i lived in Charlotte for 12 years and the fate of the Uruguay Round amount to about a foot of snow. all year … UR gona have to go a mountian or find an indoor resort if they have any. I can not get snow until January ISH anyway. U might have to go further north
