April Skiing
Is the skiing in Aspen, Colorado good in April?
For the past few years I’ve been skiing in Whistler Blackcomb and it is amazing because there is always tons of snow and the resort is huge. Would skiing in Aspen live up to the extremely high bar that Whistler has set?
Aspen really isn’t that great of an area, and it could be great or slushy. It’s one of the lower elevation resorts. If you’re considering a Colorado trip, Breckenridge, Winter Park, Arapahoe Basin, or Loveland are much better in April than low elevation areas like Aspen or Vail.
Realistically, no, it wouldn’t live up in terms of terrain. But in terms of snow, if you get a good, cold day, the snow is much better.
Last April was just awesome, powder days all throughout, staying strongly wintery till May. Depends on the year.
