Where is Chandakan (sp?).?

I once went skiing in a place named “Chandakan” (or Chadachan or somethin like that). It was in New England, I think, or maybe New York. They had many lifts, and a very long walk across the top of the mountain to get to the easier trails.

Can anybody tell me where it is?

You’re thinking of Shandaken, NY.

It’s near Belle Ayre (and not far from Hunter).

I used to stay at a place in Shandaken called “Auberge de Quatre Saisons” (sp?), with excellent French food, but that’s gone now.
